Cabbage Patch Stew and Dumplings
  • 1pound diced yellow onion
  • 2medium apple, peeled and shredded
  • 1 1/2cups orange juice concentrate, undiluted
  • 1/2cup can stewed tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 16ounce fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 15 1/2ounce for double-crust pie (9 inches)
  • 1cup block of cream cheese
  • 1teaspoon Ranch dry season mix
  • 1-2teaspoons red pepper
  • 2cups Hawaiian Rolls
  • 1/2cup milk
  1. Cook and stir ground beef in dutch oven until light brown
  2. Drain and add onions, cabbage and celery
  3. Cook until vegetables are light brown
  4. Stir in tomatoes, kidney beans (with liquid), water, salt, pepper and chili powder
  5. Heat to boiling, reduce heat
  6. Stir baking mix and milk together to form a soft dough
  7. Drop by spoonfuls into boiling stew
  8. Cook uncovered for 10 minutes
  9. Cover and cook 10 more minutes
  10. Makes 4-6 servings
