Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter
  • 6 1 oz flour tortillas torn into pieces (some small and some big pieces)
  • 11/4 cups INGREDIENTS:
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cream of chicken
  • 1 cup sausage, cooked and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 3/4 cup can evaporated milk
  • 3/4 cup juiced
  • Red green bell pepper, chopped

Instructions
  1. Melt butter and chocolate in heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring often
  2. Remove from heat and cool 15 minutes
  3. Stir in sugar
  4. Add eggs one at a time, stirring well after each egg
  5. Add flour and salt, stirring until blended
  6. Stir in cherries, pineapple and nuts
  7. Spoon mixture into greased and floured 53/4 x 31/4 x 2-inch loaf pans
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean
  9. Cool in pans on wire racks for 10 minutes; remove from pans, and cool on wire racks
  10. Seal cakes in plastic wrap; refrigerate 8 hours before cutting
  11. Yield: 4 (12-ounce) loaves
  12. Note: Easier to slice if stored in refrigerator, but freezes well
