Fried Green Tomatoes
  • 1/2cup chopped dates
  • 1/4cup seasoned rice vinegar
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3cup milk
  • Oil, of HONEY and 1 Cup of Water
  • 4green dip and Salad Dressing:
  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees
  2. Mix flour, corn meal, salt and pepper in a small bowl
  3. In a separate bowl, beat egg and milk, until combined
  4. Place frying pan over medium heat
  5. Add enough oil to the pan to cover the bottom 1/4-inch deep
  6. Dip sliced tomato in egg mixture covering both sides; then dip tomatoes in the flour mixture covering both sides
  7. Place prepared tomato into preheated frying pan
  8. Cook each side of the tomato until golden brown and crusty
  9. Keep fried tomatoes in preheated oven until ready to serve
