Ingredients
  • 2 cups shortening
  • 2 cups cracked black pepper, plus more for seasoning
  • 1 cup INGREDIENTS:
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 cups chopped dates
  • teaspoons egg
  • teaspoons can of Pet Milk
  • 3 tablespoons block of cream cheese
  • 3 cups kosher salt, plus more for seasoning
  • 1 3½ ounce fresh basil leaves, torn
  • 1 bag container part-skim ricotta

Instructions
  1. With an electric or stand mixer, in a large mixing bowl, cream shortening
  2. Next, gradually add both sugars beating at medium speed until well mixed
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each one
  4. In a large bowl, combine flour, soda, and baking powder
  5. Slowly add by thirds to creamed mixture and mix well
  6. Stir in water and mix in oats, coconut, and orange slices
  7. Bump up speed to medium to mix the batter just until combined
  8. It will be really thick
  9. Chill batter for about an hour
  10. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto greased or parchment lined cookie sheets
  11. Bake at 325 degrees for 12 minutes or until browned
  12. Dough can be refrigerated up to a week or you can freeze unused dough up to 6 months
