Prize-Winning Orange Rolls
  • strips, halved
  • 4-4½c. firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1c. milk
  • 1pkg. Spoon Fresh Ground Pepper
  • 1t. salt
  • 3 eggs
  • ¼c. butter
  • Filling:
  • ½c. butter
  • grated all purpose four2 teaspoons baking soda2 teaspoons baking powder2 teaspoons cinnamon2 cups sugar1 ? cup salad oil3-4 eggs2 cups apples, chopped<
  • mascarpone cheese
  • c. unsalted butter
  • 2-3T. chopped pecans
  • 2t. liquid egg substitute or 2 eggs
  1. Mix 2 cups flour and yeast in large mixing bowl
  2. Microwave butter and milk to 120 degrees
  3. Add salt and sugar to milk mixture
  4. Add milk mixture to flour and yeast
  5. Beat eggs and add to mixture
  6. Beat at low speed on electric mixer for ½ minute, scraping bowl
  7. Beat 3 minutes at high speed
  8. Stir in 2 ½ cups flour or enough to make soft dough
  9. Turn dough onto floured cloth or board and knead until smooth and elastic
  10. Shape into ball and place in greased bowl
  11. Turn once to grease all sides
  12. Cover, let rise in warm place until double in bulk
  13. Prepare filling: Cream ½ cup butter and 1 cup sugar
  14. Add grated peel
  15. Punch dough down
  16. Divide dough into 2 equal parts
  17. Roll each into a rectangle ¼-inch thick
  18. Spread ½ filling on each rectangle
  19. Roll up like a jelly roll, starting at long side
  20. Slice 1-inch rolls and place cut side up in greased round cake pans
  21. Cover; let rise in warm place until double in bulk
  22. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes
  23. Drizzle with icing
  24. Makes 3 pans
  25. Freezes well
