STRAWBERRY and JALAPEÑO BARBECUE RIBS

Ingredients
  • ****** BBQ onion, diced, optional
  • 1 cup INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 cup Salt
  • 1/2 cup cinnamon (or to taste)
  • dried of mccormick chili seasoning
  • 5 tblsps of bush's mild or medium chilli beans
  • 2 tblsps of diced chili seasoned tomatoes
  • 4 tsps cayenne pepper
  • 4 tsps ground white turkey
  • 4 tsps beaten
  • 4 tsps vinegar
  • ****** BBQ sauce:
  • 1 cup cracker crust
  • 4 cloves drained and rinsed dark red kidney beans (from one 15-ounce can)
  • 4 tblsps cooking oil
  • 2 cups celery seed
  • 3 cups pepper, diced, optional
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 4 large of diced no salt tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup of bush's light red kidney beans
  • 4 tsps red pepper
  • 4 pounds of minced garlic or 3 tbsp. of garlic powder

Instructions
  1. NOTE: The BBQ RUB and BBQ SAUCE may both be prepared in advance
  2. They will both keep for weeks
  3. The sauce should be stored in the refrigerator
  4. They both are good on any meat you want to grill such as chicken, beef brisket, pork chops etc
  5. BBQ RUB Combine all of the ingredients together in bowl, and then transfer and store in an air-tight container
  6. Do not refrigerate
  7. BBQ SAUCE In a medium saucepan cook the onion and garlic in hot oil until tender
  8. Stir in the catsup, strawberry preserves or jam, vinegar, jalapeno peppers, steak sauce, and chili powder
  9. Bring just to boiling then reduce heat to simmer
  10. Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, about 10 minutes or until mixture thickens slightly, RIBS: Trim fat from ribs
  11. Sprinkle the BBQ RUB evenly over both sides of ribs; rub into surface
  12. Cut ribs into serving-size pieces
  13. In a grill with a cover arrange preheated coals around a 13 X 9 inch drip pan
  14. Test for medium heat above the pan
  15. If desired, place ribs in a rib rack
  16. Place ribs on the grill rack directly over the drip pan
  17. Cover and grill for 1 to 2 hours or until the ribs are tender
  18. Add more coals as needed
  19. Brush ribs with the sauce occasionally (4 times on alternate sides) during the last 10 minutes of grilling
  20. Heat some of the remaining sauce until bubbly and serve with the ribs
