INGREDIENTS

1 cup almonds
1 cup pecans
1 cup dates pits removed
12.3 ounces silken tofu
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup applesauce
1/4 cup almond milk
1/4 tsp salt
2 Tbs dark choocolate shavings

In a food processor, place almonds, pecans, dates, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Process until a coarse, sticky dough forms.
In a pie pan, press dough evenly along the bottom and up the sides.
In a high-speed blender, blend tofu, cocoa powder, applesauce, maple syrup, milk, and salt until completely smooth.
Pour filling into the crust and spread out.
Refrigerate overnight.
Sprinkle chocolate shavings on top.
Serve and savor!

Most holiday desserts use dairy products. I like to prepare this pie, so my vegan friends won’t feel left out. It’s seriously heavenly.
